I liked reading the Diary of Anne Frank. The fact that it was her actual diary with her own words made it better. I thought the way Anne chose to end the book was a little weird. She talks about the person she is, and who she wants to be but she could only be that person if there were no other people in the world. I don't really understand it, but i think she blames the people around her for the person she is. A few days after Anne Frank´s last diary entry, the Nazis invaded their hiding place. The major theme that encompasses the whole novel is conformity/identity loss. Anne and her family went through a lot of changes that she had to adapt to, and these changes changed the person she is.

Reading this book helped me to see exactly what the Jews went through and how they felt. I realized that they are exactly like us no matter what race or religion, and they deserve to be treated the same. I learned how the people my age lived in hiding and the changes they had to make. This project has taught me that we are all different and we just have to learn to tolerate it. I think a project like this is very important for teenagers to be a part of because it teaches us a life lesson. Its good for us to learn about these kinds of things because we are the future. Thanks to all who contributed!

  1. I agree you that the end of the book of "The diary of Anne Frank" did have a weird ending. Also I agree with you that the whole book is about conformity/identity loss. The Nazi taking her rights wasn't right at all, all people should have equal right, any Race and Religion. Its amazing that she stayed in hiding that long. Anyone that reads this book will notice that how life was hard it was being a Jewish person during the Holocaust. Life for them was hard and some people don't notice that. As being Polish, My family hurt in a way during the Holocaust.

  2. I do go alone with that "The Diary of Anne Frank" was a great book in many ways. Mostly that the writing in the diary were her thoughts on her view on what was happening. Also adapting during that time in the situation that was happening around were she was. I agree that reading that reading the book helped me get a different view of what a Jew when threw the Holocaust. Also that people should always be treated the same always.

  3. The Diary of Anne Frank is one of the most popular books about those times during the Holocaust. I completely agree with Oscar about how it was a great book. It let the reader know what exactly she felt and how her everyday life while she was hiding was like. The ending was a bit odd, I do agree. She is probably trying to say that if she didn't have to go into hiding she would of spent her days being a better person. She blames the Nazis for not letting her be able to accomplish what she wanted to be. She was human and she deserved to be treated like one and not like an animal on the hunt. She didn't have to hide from people.
